2013 has been a busy year: Maria Vandenhurk was invited to speak at a multitude of events, including the ROSE Conference in Minneapolis in September 2013, the CLHIA Mental Health Symposium in Toronto also in September 2013, and a variety of Pathways events in Vancouver and Toronto.
Her topic: Fresh Strategies for the Changing Mental Health Challenge. In her talk, Maria specifically addressed trends in absence/mental health claims in Canada; claims management spend – the investment pattern in Canada; duration – the silent cost and substantial opportunity; cost containment strategies and ideas; and work-focused CBT research out of the Netherlands and its applications in Canada. Maria’s talk was exceptionally well-received, and she as been invited to extend her involvement in next year’s events.
