Tarik ChakrellahDirector, IT, Banyan Work Health Solutions
Tarik Chakrellah is responsible for formulating and overseeing Banyan’s information technology (IT) strategy, which encompasses infrastructure, security, networking, telecommunications, project management, feasibility studies, business analysis and KPI design for IT projects. He joined Banyan in 2011 and has over 15 years of experience in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Tarik views business processes through a strategic lens and uncovers opportunities for cost cutting, efficiency improvement and security enhancement.
At Banyan, Tarik has deployed robust security policies and encryption tools, maximizing security measures for the company as well as its clients. Tarik also led the re-design and deployment of an intranet site, saving thousands of dollars through the use of a new platform, a multi-site redundancy backup solution for critical services, and the introduction of a project management tool that facilitates real time collaboration of various project team members.
Tarik’s unique skills were developed over many years in a variety of countries, industries and functions, with some experience working in the healthcare sector. His tenure with France Telecom formed the foundation of his ICT specific skills. In the United Kingdom, Tarik turned around and managed a number of data centres. Applying his incisive business analysis skills, he optimized technology costs, and achieved savings to the point where, even throughout the financial crisis, no staff had to be laid off. A project in Dubai saw Tarik leading a turnkey initiative to establish a subsidiary of a French company in the healthcare sector. This project included everything from creating a business plan, to establishing the physical and technological presence of the business in Dubai, to retaining staff and securing new clients. Tarik holds a Bachelor degree in Mathematics as well as a Masters in Networks and Telecom from the Université d’Avignon et des Pays de Vaucluse. He also holds an MBA in Strategic Management in Financial Decisions from De Montfort University.
