Banyan has been working in close partnership with disability insurers for a decade. Our management team has extensive experience in the delivery of disability management services. Our consultants have a sound understanding of wage loss replacement benefits (group, individual, association and self-insured products), which enable them to anticipate the focus and scope of rehabilitation services required by each client. This enables our consultants to build effective relationships with clients and productive partnerships with customers.

Our Philosophy

Cost Effective Intervention

The Banyan service delivery philosophy is to deliver Cost Effective Disability Management solutions to insurers. This is accomplished though early intervention, innovative approaches (see services below) and recommendations that are cost sensitive and take into consideration the scope of the policy. To accomplish this, three fundamental tenets are followed during the service delivery process:

  1. Customer Partnering: A working partnership with the referral source is essential to the success of the process. It is important for the Banyan consultant to understand the business issues the customer is dealing with and work together with the customer at achieving resolution to the file.
  2. Quality Control: Every consultant joining our network is trained in customer specific procedures and approaches. All documentation is rigorously reviewed and edited by a team of Managers to maintain high quality standards, as well as to ensure sensitivity to the customer needs and cost efficiency.
  3. Timeliness: All services are delivered in a timely fashion, so as to assist our customer in making the decisions they must make in an expeditious manner.

Insurer Services

Disability Case Management
Consultant work includes the active file management of clients/employees who have left the workforce. Included in this service is comprehensive information gathering conducted via an in person interview and documented in a report. Every section of the report is important, although the Consultant will emphasize certain sections more than others, depending on case specific needs. The report focuses on function, identifies contributors to disability and addresses inconsistencies. The report provides a Vocational Opinion and recommended next steps as appropriate, including a cost benefit analysis.

Return to Work/Stay at Work Plans

When our Administration Centre receives a referral, a consultant is assigned to the client, based on skills and geography, within 48 hours. We also inform you, the customer, of any unusual circumstances (e.g. extensive travel involved to meet the request) to ensure that you still wish to proceed.

We forward the file to our consultant via Express Post, requiring two to three days delivery. Our consultant makes telephone contact with the client within 48 hours of the receipt of the file.
